What Preteen Camp Is All about
The sole purpose of Preteen Camp is to glorify and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ. He is worthy of all our worship, trust, and service. Therefore, we seek to lift his name high by focusing on the following objectives:
n Pointing children to Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 2:2)
n Effectively communicating God's word (2 Timothy 3:16)
n Encouraging children to worship (James 4:8)
n Helping students experience spiritual intimacy (Galatians 6:2)
n Challenging children to lead (1 Peter 4:10)
n Supporting the local church (Galatians 6:10)
Adult Counselor Requirements
Much is required of the adult counselor, demanding a physically fit, emotionally and spiritually mature person who relates well with children. He/she is expected to serve as a family group leader and assist with the camp activities. The adult counselor is an encourager, disciplinarian, dorm supervisor, and discussion leader.
Churches must send one (1) adult counselor for every eight (8) campers. For every 8 girls there must be a female counselor and for every 8 boys, a male counselor. Counselors are to be at least 19 years of age, are required to be housed with their campers, and are expected to assist in the camp activities.
