The Wilderness Camp is for young men and their leaders who want to experience camping in the real sense... pitching a tent, cooking over an open campfire, practicing proper camp sanitation and safety, and studying nature and conservation. Participants will learn basic campcraft and activities skills in order to live outdoors safely and comfortably.
Highly trained instructors will lead the canoeing expedition and coach all participants in the basics of river canoeing. Instructors will cover: understanding river systems, portaging skills, canoeing techniques, classification of rapids, and river rescue skills. At all times, the safety of campers is a priority. Our staff is certified in rendering first aid, CPR, lifeguarding, and river rescue.
Wilderness Camp provides a great opportunity for Christian fathers, grandfathers, uncles, counselors, and other important men in a boy's life to spend quality time together involved in meaningful, interactive activities.

A nonrefundable registration deposit of $50 will secure each camper's reservation. Each camper's registration fee is based upon the postmark date of which their deposit is received. The remaining registration balance plus all required camp forms are due on or before June 23, 2008. Confirmation of reservation will be issued upon completion of requirements.
Adult Counselor Requirements
Much is required of the adult counselor, demanding a physically fit, emotionally and spiritually mature person who relates well with children. He is expected to serve as a family group leader and assist with the camp activities. The adult counselor is an encourager, disciplinarian, dorm supervisor, and discussion leader.
Churches must send one (1) adult counselor for every eight (8) campers. For every 8 boys there must be a male counselor. Counselors are to be at least 19 years of age, are required to be housed with their campers, and are expected to assist in the camp activities.
